Understanding and Navigating Living Grief

Healing Heart Connects

As part of our Connect Series, provided by our Canada Healing Hears Program we present “Understanding and Navigating Living Grief” with Agnes Chen, the founder and president of Starlings Community. Agnes Chen engages with children & adults who have been impacted by a parent’s substance use.

Time and Date: Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 10 to 12 MST via Zoom.

If you have been affected by substance-related loss and need support, please visit our Canada Healing Hearts website to learn more about groups in your community and via Zoom. Participation is free and you do not need to be a Moms Stop The Harm (MSTH) member to participate.

Moms Stop the Harm offers a private Facebook grief support group to members. To join our organization go to this page.

Canada Healing Hearts is funded by Health Canada through the Substance Use and Addictions Program.

Dying for Access

In Alberta people are DYING FOR ACCESS to harm reduction, safer supply and evidence based treatment.

On February 23, 2022 join us and other activists in solidarity with people who use drugs for our rallies and vigils for the many lives lost.

Edmonton: Alberta legislature at 12:00PM

Calgary: Outside City Hall at 12:00PM

Lethbridge: Galt Gardens at 7:00PM

Bring signs and photos of your loved ones, your loud voices and friends!

We greatly appreciate your support of these events. Whether you advocate in a small way (ie/ write letters and share our information) or join us in something louder, every effort to keep the pressure on is valued!

To address the ongoing crisis, we call on the Government of Alberta to:

  • Expand supervised consumption services and reopen closed sites

  • Scrap the harmful provincial regulations for consumption services

  • Provide access to safe regulated substances to replace toxic street drugs

  • Offer rapid, barrier-free access to medical detox and evidence-based treatment.
