Sadness and Rage - Rally to Rage, Grieve and Remember
Ten Years On – 17953 Dead, and People are still Dying
Ten years ago, the BC Government declared the toxic drug crisis a Public Health Emergency. Ten years on, we continue to have British Columbians dying by the thousands every year while the government bowing to political pressure, rolled back funding for life saving measures like regulated nontoxic alternatives to the poisoned drugs supply, recriminalized people with small amounts of drugs for personal use, and instituted involuntary treatment even though the waits for voluntary care are still in the months. They boast of their innovative approach to addictions care, but the reality is a mounting toll of preventable deaths and harms every day, month, and year.
We invite you to join us at a rally to Rage, Grieve and Remember, on Tuesday, April 14th from 1pm to 3:30 pm. Provincial Legislature Lawn, Bellville Street, Victoria, BC. Bring your family, friends, neighbours, posters and most importantly pictures and mementos of your lost loved ones.
Let’s tell the government that even one toxic drug death is one too many! Every British Columbian deserves to know that their Sister, Brother, Mother, Father, Child, Aunt, Uncle, Lover, Friend, and Neighbor is safe from death due to poisoned drugs.
