Cassie Van Camp
I am currently based in Victoria, BC, where I work as the Coordinator of the Harbour Supervised Consumption Site and Addiction Medicine Consult Service for Island Health. For over a decade, I’ve been working in harm reduction and substance use care, alongside people who use drugs and those who are unhoused. My work has been shaped by community—through outreach, advocacy, and organizing—and is grounded in a deep belief in dignity, safety, and care for everyone. Prior to returning to the island this fall, I spent six months in South America connecting with and learning from grassroots harm reduction efforts, which further deepened my commitment to community-led, relationship-based work. Outside of work, I’m usually happiest near the water, out camping or hiking, or finding ways to move my body.
