Aubrey's Run to End Toxic Drug Death Happening Now
Moms Stop the Harm BC Member, Jessica Michalofsky is training to run across BC during the months of May and June of 2023. After running around the BC Ministry of Health Building for six weeks this past winter, Jessica decided to redirect her focus. Jessica will begin her run in Nelson, BC where her son Aubrey lived and died. “I decided to put my focus somewhere else and so for the run across BC, my focus is more on the people involved, people who use drugs, their families and young people….I feel like we need to band together” (The Northern View).
STILL DYING FOR ACCESS in Alberta!
In Alberta people are DYING FOR ACCESS to harm reduction, safer supply and evidence based treatment.
In February of 2022, Moms Stop The Harm and Albertans for Evidence-Based Drug Policy joined in solidarity with people who use drugs in rallies and vigils held in Edmonton, Calgary and Lethbridge for the many lives lost to drug poisoning deaths. Nothing has been done since that time and in fact the Alberta government has made matters incrementally worse and the deaths continue to ravage communities and Albertan families.
Update - Paper Petition to the Government of Canada
Please consider helping by doing a petition!
In November of 2019, Moms Stop The Harm members launched a petition urging the Government of Canada to take action on the drug poisoning and overdose crisis.
This was all during the time of COVID lock downs, but our members took heed and completed petitions and sent them to their MPs who then presented them in the House of Commons, thereby sending our urgent message to the federal government!
