Cindy Harrison, Ottawa, ON
My son Joshua (Josh) Harrison was born May 30, 1991. Two weeks late he was, and I always said he came into this world stubborn and stayed that way. He was a lively, fearless child who always chose to do things as he saw fit. Always quick to make people laugh and a loyal friend to many. Loved to fish and do things outdoors.
As he grew older he continued to sometimes take the wrong path as he would always do things on his terms and how he wanted. After his young adolescent growing pains, he was beginning to turn things around and was making something of himself. He had a job in construction which he loved and was beginning to feel good about himself. He was never dependant on drugs, as he preferred alcohol over drugs, not that it is a better choice.
The last week or so of his life was a difficult one, as the demons in his head were taking over. He made the unfortunate choice of spending his last days with new so-called friends. It was with these people that he made the final bad decision of his young life. Joshua passed away on August 27, 2016 at the age of 25. His younger brother and I along with other family members miss him terribly.
Rest my son, I hope you have found peace. We love you
