Dorene Loughlin - AB

I became involved in Moms Stop The Harm after losing my oldest son, Christopher, to lethal dose of fentanyl in February 2021. I have found support, caring, a common bond, information and an opportunity to make a difference. As we continue to see the number of deaths climbing we must address the toxic supply that is in our communities. I hope to carry his legacy forward and truly make a difference.

I recently retired after a 25-year career with the Alberta Government. My entire career in public service was with Community and Social Services (under a variety of Ministry names). In my last assignment, I was Director of Regional Support Services for the Central Region. We were responsible for developing and managing contracted services to support vulnerable individuals, staff development, OH&S, business continuity, communications and stakeholder relationships, and supporting the Ministry in the implementation of initiatives. I hope to bring the knowledge and skills I aquired in my career to the MSTH board of directors and help further the initiative our organization is engaged in.
